2FA is needed to ensure a secure portal for Metro and all users. With that we can enable a multitude of options together with you.
We have a very clear requirement set from Metro Security side which requested this approach and beyond that is currently not allowing it to send the 2nd factor by mail as it needs to be send to another medium as a static computer.
Currently we have 2 options available but for both a mobile phone is needed (which of course can also be a private one).
Option 1: you receive a simple text message with a 6-digit code to the mobile phone. If you choose a private mobile phone number for this the number will not be used for anything else and definitely not be stored for any later purpose. This is than solemnly for receiving this 6-digit code for the login to the Metro Link plus portal.
Option 2: you have to install an 'Authenticator' app on your mobile phone. There are many of these apps to choose from in the respective app stores. Most recommended are the one from Google or Microsoft but others available should also do. On the first login to the Metro Link plus portal if you select the option via Authenticator app a QR code will be shown. This QR code is needed to setup the Authenticator app for the access to Metro Link plus portal. If the setup has been done the app will continously generate 6-digit codes that can be used for the login to the Metro Link plus portal.
